RFP for Professional Services: Technical/Engineering Consulting Services for Clean Energy Microgrid System
RFP Issue Date: January 31, 2022
Mandatory Pre-Bid Video Conference: February 11, 2022
RFP Due Date: March 11, 2022
The University of California, Berkeley (UCB) is inviting proposals for Technical and Engineering Consulting Services for a Clean Energy System on behalf of the Office of Sustainability and the Facilities Services department. Within eight years, Berkeley plans to switch to a new decarbonized and resilient energy microgrid. Driven to make this change by ambitious carbon emissions reduction targets and an aging natural gas cogeneration plant (steam and power) and infrastructure, the campus has embarked on the critical next step towards the solution. UCB is now producing an Integrated Resource and Activation Plan (IRAP) that will result in a technical, living-lab, and financing blueprint.
UCB is seeking a technical and engineering strategic consultant team for the IRAP with deep experience in complex large-scale energy system decarbonization transformations, including electrification of thermal systems and resiliency and efficiency strategies supported by renewable energy and storage solutions.
